Acupuncture is developed by traditional Chinese medicine practitioners to treat wide range of health problems. Once only used in eastern cultures, but It has gradually gained respect and acceptance by medical professionals in the west. And treating allergies with acupuncture are also gaining traction.

Acupuncture is an ancient practice, can be easily trace back to 3000 years ago. Acupuncture is base on the belief that qi flows throughout the body along the pathways called Meridians. The skilled practitioner seek to restore the flow of qi to eliminated pain and disease by inserting the thin needles at specific points called acupuncture points. What’s the benefit of treating allergy with acupuncture ?

The world Health Organization’s 2002 study shows acupuncture to be an effective treatment for allergic rhinitis.

Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) believe that addressing the cause of allergies, treating the whole person, and focusing on balancing the immune system leads to substantial long- term health benefit in managing allergies. For many, this can mean the end of struggles with the heavy side effects of allergy medications.

Modern scientific explanation for effectiveness is that acupuncture for allergy symptoms stimulaters the nervous system to release chemicals in the body, which influence its own internal regulation system. The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture results in stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities. It can help to strengthen resistance and can regulate the body’s antigen - antibody reactions.

This medical system emphasizes a holistic approach to medicine, an approach that treats the whole person. The acupuncture points found on the ear help to regulate the body's internal organs, structures, and functions. Auricular therapy has a long history of use in China. It was mentioned in the most famous of ancient Chinese medical textbooks, “The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine.” In modern times, auricular therapy has been shown to stimulate the release of endorphins, the body's own feel-good chemicals.
